Industrial Storage and Warehouse Supply Company Flow-Rite Inc Adds Forklift Safety Tips Article

Industrial Storage and Warehouse Supply Company Flow-Rite Inc Adds Forklift Safety Tips Article

Flow-Rite Inc.

Burlington, Ontario (PRWEB) March 21, 2014

Flow-Rite Inc. (http://www.flowrite.ca), a North American supplier of industrial storage systems, warehouse racking, new and used shelving systems and equipment, has worked with companies to equip and operate safe and efficient warehouse and storage facilities for over thirty-five years. The President of Flow-Rite Inc.; Mike Leyland understands the importance of operating a safe workplace environment for warehouse employees and offers essential tips on forklift safety in a new article posted on the Flow-Rite website.

"As forklifts are commonly used in warehouses and have been linked to numerous accidents, we decided to add information on forklift safety to our company's website because it is a serious issue that impacts many of our customers," says Leyland. "According to the U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration, one in six workplace fatalities is forklift related. In the United States, every 3 days someone dies from a forklift accident. Each year in Ontario, according to the Occupational Health and Safety Council of Ontario, there are approximately 700 forklift, lift truck, reach truck or tow motor related workplace injuries. Between 2003 and 2007, thirteen Ontario workers died as a result of a forklift accident."

"Workplace accidents can seriously affect a company's bottom line. Costs directly related to minor accidents with industrial equipment include reduced productivity and higher insurance premiums. For companies that don't promote workplace safety, the consequences of serious work-related accidents that result in permanent disability or death occur, can be severe and may include stiff fines, lawsuits and even criminal charges. Just a few years ago, the Ford Motor Company of Canada was fined $ 850,000 following the death of two workers in two separate lift truck accidents when the company pled guilty to two counts of failing to take all reasonable precautions to protect the workers' safety. Aside from the financial implications of accidents, protecting your employees by maintaining a safe work place environment and following proper safety practices is only the right thing to do," claims Leyland.

About Flow-Rite Inc.: A one-stop shop for all your industrial storage and warehouse needs, since 1986, Flow-Rite Inc. has served North American businesses, designing, supplying and installing high density and highly productive warehouses. Cybernet Systems Announces All Weather Driverless Vehicle Patent Pendings for Automated Warehouses and All Weather Driverless Vehicles

Cybernet Systems Announces All Weather Driverless Vehicle Patent Pendings for Automated Warehouses and All Weather Driverless Vehicles

(PRWEB) March 08, 2014

Cybernet Systems Corporation, a leading defense, robotics, engineering, cyber security and simulation systems development company, today announced a patent pending for automated warehousing systems built around fully automated near-human driver capable robotic forklifts. The technology demonstrated to the US Army in November of last year at Toole Army Depot in Utah enables fully automated and mixed automation warehouse applications where multiple driverless forklifts work together with man-driven fork trucks safely. This effort grows from prior work the company has completed implementing automated lift trucks for ammunition handling and Unit-to-Unit Autonomous Resupply Vehicles for the Army based on its DARPA Urban Challenge automation kits. Additional technology in the line also enables driverless vehicles to operate in inclement weather conditions including snow, rain, dust, fog, and smoke. This technology was developed as a spin-off of driverless pallet delivery truck testing performed for the US Army during the 2013 and 2014 cold weather season.

New at Summit Racing Equipment: Spyder Industries Truck Accessories

Tallmadge, OH (PRWEB) March 15, 2014

Pickup owners can set their trucks apart from the crowd with the Mark of the Spyder. These Spyder Industries headache racks, bull bars, exhaust tips, and other accessories are stylish as well as functional.

HEADACHE RACKS

These racks are designed to protect your cab's rear window from damage from road missiles or cargo flying around the truck bed. The all-steel square tube racks have that distinctive spiderweb grate laser-cut from mild steel plate and a semi-gloss black powdercoat finish. You can install a rack in about 30 minutes with a half-inch wrench and socket. Most racks are available with a full-cover grate or an optional rear window pass-through. The racks are available for many 1992-2012 GM, Ford, Dodge, and Toyota pickups.

BLACK VENOM BULL BARS

These bull bars protect your truck's front end from damage during off-road and shopping plaza excursions. Built from black powdercoated, 2.5 inch square steel tubing, the Black Venom bull bars bolt to existing factory holes and attachment points with no drilling required. The bars have attachment points for up to four off-road lights plus pre-drilled holes to run the light wiring through the bar tubes. You can even tilt your Black Venom bar up to five inches to clear lights or winches, or just for looks. The bars are available for many 2003-2012 GM, Ford, Dodge, and Toyota pickups and SUVs.

BLACK WIDOW EXHAUST TIPS

These exhaust tips are made from stainless steel and come polished or black powdercoated. The contrasting webbed sleeve bolts to the tip and can be removed for cleaning. The Black Widow Exhaust Tips have a slant-cut and rolled outlet edge. They are available with a four inch inlet/five inch outlet or a five inch inlet/six inch outlet.

Industrial Truck Rental Procurement Category Market Research Report Now Available from IBISWorld

Industrial Truck Rental Procurement Category Market Research Report Now Available from IBISWorld

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 18, 2014

Industrial truck rental has a buyer power score of 3.9 out of 5.0, where a higher score represents better negotiating conditions for the renter (i.e. lessee). Buyer power is relatively high because of the market's fragmentation, meaning that supplier competition (on the basis of price, fleet composition and availability, add-on services and location) is high. Also, while the only viable substitute for rented industrial trucks is purchased equipment, rental companies face considerable competition from this substitute due to low purchase prices; this further pressures rental prices downward. Buyer power is also enhanced by the broad availability of discounts, which are awarded for reducing suppliers' marginal costs by bundling rental equipment or renting in bulk.

Rental companies have kept renting an attractive alternative to buying in the post-recession years by raising the price of industrial truck rental at a slower rate than the purchase price of industrial trucks has grown. As such, IBISWorld expects trends in industrial truck rentals to mirror the secular shift occurring in equipment renting generally, in that equipment leasing has consistently grown over the past decade regardless of economic cycles. While this trend detracts from buyer power by placing renters in a growing pool of suppliers' customers, favorable rental price trends offset these losses. Major suppliers include United Rentals Inc., Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation, NES Rentals Holdings Inc. and Home Depot Inc.

The price of industrial truck rentals has grown slowly and with low volatility; low price volatility is particularly beneficial to renters because many rent ad hoc and without significant lead time, leaving lessees with no planning strategy to combat price volatility. Although prices will grow at a slightly faster rate in the three years to 2016, price growth will remain fairly subdued and low volatility will persist, keeping price trends favorable for renters. Lessees that can foresee heightened material handling needs will continue to accrue minor savings from locking down rates months in advance. Such savings are more pronounced for summer rentals, since rates peak in the summer months due to heightened construction demand.

There?s Nothing ?Temporary? About a Name Change for North Carolina?s Temporary Resources

There's Nothing "Temporary" About a Name Change for North Carolina's Temporary Resources

Kathy Hartung, president of The Resouce, reveals new company logo

Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) January 15, 2014

Just in time for the New Year, the 30-year-old North Carolina-based career agency previously known as "Temporary Resources" is updating their company name to reflect their focus on career matching and recruitment. Beginning January 15, the agency will now be known as "The Resource."

In addition to the name change, The Resource is restructuring into five specialty divisions, each led by a team of Resource Leaders. The five divisions include:

CareerSource for executives, managers, engineers, accountants and HR professionals.
ITSource for technically qualified individuals such as network administrators, desktop support technicians, helpdesk analysts, storage architects and CIOs.
TempSource for clerical and industrial roles, including temp-to-hire.
SkillSource for those roles requiring certification or hands-on experience, such as welders, CNC operators, carpenters, forklift operators, specific machine operators and more.
IdeaSource, which creates solutions with customized services to fit any need for employers or career seekers.

"Our philosophy is that the right career match can transform a career, a company or even someone's life," says Kathy Hartung, president and CEO of The Resource. "We go beyond matching 'skill sets' and instead hone in on making a career match focused on company values, work environment and drive. This means everything we do is unique and tailored to the needs of the person or the company."

Hartung goes on to note that a primary reason for the name change is that with the name "Temporary Resources," they were being lumped in with job placement agencies.

"But that's not really what we do," she states. "Especially now with our Resource Leaders and niche divisions, we go far beyond mere job placement."

For more information, visit http://www.TheResource.com.

About The Resource

The Resource is a trusted leader in career matching and professional recruiting. With offices in Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Greensboro, Mocksville and Wilmington, The Resource partners with individuals and employers through five specialty divisions, overseen by an expert team of Resource Leaders. U.S. Insurance Source Offers Tips For Local Companies In Honor Of Business Continuity Awareness Week

U.S. Insurance Source Offers Tips For Local Companies In Honor Of Business Continuity Awareness Week

Spring, TX (PRWEB) March 18, 2014

Texas-based insurance agency, U.S. Insurance Source, serves the needs of individuals and companies in several states. In honor of Business Continuity Awareness Week, March 17th-21st, the agency will release business continuity planning tips in order to help companies of all sizes.

The basic purpose of a Business Continuity Plan is to outline how employees will continue to do their jobs after a disaster or emergency occurs. This could include a natural disaster, or an emergency in the office such as a fire. These are also known as Disaster Recovery Plans. Implementing risk management and business continuity programs is crucial for the success of businesses of all kinds, and U.S. Insurance Source hopes to assist companies with the following information on how to create one of these plans:

Make note of key internal information. This includes a list of crucial team members, job functions, and data backup information.
Create a list of each employee's contact information, including home and personal contact information so that they can be reached when outside of the office.
If your business utilizes third party vendors or contractors, compile a list of the contact information of these individuals. Also, be sure to include any significant information regarding their relationships with your company.
Make note of all critical equipment that your business absolutely cannot function without. This will be different for each business, depending on its nature. Consider things such as computer software, programs, documents on computer servers, and physical office equipment such as fax or copy machines.
List and backup all critical documents such as human resources information, legal files, financial information, etc.

While these steps are certainly not an all-inclusive list that businesses should consider, especially for larger companies, this information can provide a beneficial starting point for businesses across Texas. U.S. Insurance Source encourages local companies to contact its office at 800-401-8242 for more information about protecting their businesses.

About U.S. Insurance Source:

U.S. Insurance Source has been providing insurance solutions to Texas individuals, families, and businesses for more than 20 years. The agency focuses on using innovative processes in order to better serve its clients and make sure that each one's individual insurance needs are properly met. From standard personal and business insurance to coverage for businesses in more specific industries, such as trucking insurance, U.S. Insurance Source strives to fulfill all of their clients' insurance needs, no matter where in the country they are located.

Stertil-Koni Analysis Shows Use of High Lift Wheel Dolly Reduces Fleet Maintenance Injuries by Up to 45% and Increases Alignment Precision

Stertil-Koni Analysis Shows Use of High Lift Wheel Dolly Reduces Fleet Maintenance Injuries by Up to 45% and Increases Alignment Precision

High Lift Wheel Dolly

Stevensville, MD (PRWEB) March 12, 2014

As pressure mounts in transit agencies and heavy duty truck maintenance facilities throughout North America to improve efficiency and reduce workplace hazards, one relatively low tech and unsung hero has emerged – the high lift wheel dolly.

According to a recent industry overview by heavy duty vehicle lift leader, Stertil-Koni, the high lift wheel dolly delivers two essential advantages in today's modern, fleet maintenance shop. "First," noted Peter Bowers, Technical Sales Support Manager at Stertil-Koni, "the wheel dolly allows proper alignment of a dual tire assembly with the brake drum to the axle tube to be completed efficiently and accurately. Second, it dramatically lowers the occurrence of back injuries and abdominal strains because wheel removal is completed at an altitude which is higher than floor level and in line with technicians working in a fully standing position."

The stakes are high. According to recent finding by the University of Arizona Risk Management Services, musculoskeletal disorder injuries "account for more than one-third of all occupational injuries and illnesses each year." What's more, the study also showed that "most of these injuries are preventable."

Enter the high lift wheel dolly.

It is used for removal and installation of single and dual wheels on raised buses and trucks and has proved particularly effective for brake work. Continued Bowers, "Recent enhancements have made it even more effective. The latest version of the high lift wheel dolly from Stertil-Koni is stronger, taller and has a lifting capacity up to 1,000 lbs. In addition, it is fully hydraulic and powered by either pneumatic or 12 VDC battery." For added durability and convenience, nylon rollers minimize maintenance and make the wheel dolly truly mobile in the modern maintenance facility.

About Stertil-Koni USA, Inc.

Stertil-Koni is the global market leader in heavy duty vehicle lifts – bus lifts and truck lifts – and is the preferred supplier to the world's leading companies in the truck and bus industries. Stertil-Koni's breadth of products meets all ranges of lifting needs and includes mobile column lifts, two-post, four-post, inground piston lifts, platform lifts, half-scissors and its innovative axle-engaging, inground, scissor lift configuration, ECOLIFT. Stertil-Koni has also recently begun installing the DIAMOND LIFT, a full rise telescopic piston lift, setting new standards in precision heavy duty lifting. Stertil-Koni also recently introduced its new 2-post series, FREEDOM LIFT, with lifting capacities ranging from 16,000 to 30,000 lbs. Stertil-Koni is headquartered in Stevensville, Maryland, has production facilities in Europe and the U.S. and is proud to have the greatest total number of ALI/ETL certified heavy-duty lifting products in the industry.

Inventor and InventHelp Client Develops Bucket Transporter (INY-947)

Inventor and InventHelp Client Develops Bucket Transporter (INY-947)

InventHelp

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) December 23, 2013

"I handle a lot of very heavy buckets at work," said one of two inventors from Frankfort, Ind. "It is really hard to move them around, and it winds up hurting my back. To make my job easier and help me avoid aches and pains, I came up with this idea."

They created a prototype for the patent-pending BUCKET LITTER DITTY to offer a more effective way to move a bucket. The unit allows the bucket to be lifted and carried by a forklift. The device saves time and effort, and keeps the user from having to wrestle the bucket by hand.

The invention eliminates the need to take every bucket off a full pallet in order to get to the one in the center. Additionally, the accessory prevents back pain and strain, and it features an easily portable design.

The original design was submitted to the Indianapolis office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers. For more information, write Dept. 12-INY-947, InventHelp, 217 Ninth Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, or call (412) 288-1300 ext. 1368.
