According to the statistics conducted by China Rubber Industry Association Tire Branch, the profit of 46 industrial players surveyed rose by 12.3% to a record high of RMB10.07 billion. China exports a matter of one third of its tire products, and mostly to the US. In 2013, the US imported 51.2 million tires from China, up 57.5%, the record growth in the past 7 years. In 2012, the import volume, for the US, grew by 25% to 32.5 million units; in 2011, the figure posted 26 million. During 2013, the import volume of tires for passenger cars, for America, beat a new peak, up by 13.6% year-on-year to 143.7 million. The growth mainly attributed to the import business from following three regions: Chinese mainland (a sharp year-on-year rise of 55.8%), Indonesia (a year-on-year growth of 16.7%) and Taiwan (a year-on-year jump of 22.7%).

Because of substantial benefits of tire vendors, their enthusiasm for investment in the tire business was boosted greatly. When it comes to bidding dynamics in 2014, new projects and new capacities showed no less fever, with the estimated growth in all-steel tire capacity of 15 million units and in semi-steel tire capacity approximating 100 million units. As a result, China is expected to realize full-steel tire capacity 165 million units and semi-steel tire capacity roughly 600 million units by 2014 year-end when will witness further surplus of industrial structure and fiercer industrial competition.

Chicago?s ?Jobs Desert? Aided with Training by Greater West and Hiring Partners Like Bird-X, Inc.

Chicago's "Jobs Desert" Aided with Training by Greater West and Hiring Partners Like Bird-X, Inc.

Bird-X + Greater West

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 25, 2014

April 2014 marks the start of Greater West Town Community Development Project's most recent community education program for shipping and receiving skills, tailored to the specific needs of local businesses who hire its graduates, including Bird-X, Inc.

"Greater West is a community-based response to expand economic opportunities for the disadvantaged residents of the Greater West Town communities," said Mike Redmond, Program Coordinator and one of the instructors of the class.

The shipping and receiving program gives participating members of the community the tools to learn how to operate a shipping facility, including various kinds of forklift operation, hand-held scanner skills, UPS and FedEx computer systems, and international shipping requirements. "It's basically a year's worth of job experience knowledge formatted into a 12 week program," said Carmen Myers, another course instructor.

Brenda Gaddis was placed at Bird-X, Inc. after graduating Greater West's Shipping and Receiving course. "I found out about Greater West on TV; I applied and was accepted, then went through the course – I had no idea there was so much involved to work in a warehouse! I'm so happy I found them." Ms. Gaddis has been employed at Bird-X for 3 years.

Jimmy Marks, Director of Operations at Bird-X, Inc. (whose offices and warehouses also house Cozy Products and Yates Motloid) and Partner of Greater West, has found these programs extremely beneficial. "It's difficult to find employees with the skills that match today's complicated shipping and receiving requirements. International shipping is even more difficult, so having a program like this that so perfectly teaches these skills to eligible employees in our community is priceless. This is why I've been using Greater West with Bird-X, Yates, and Cozy for 8 years."

In addition to the obvious benefit to local businesses, Greater West helps their community and individuals within the community find hope and opportunity in today's struggling job market. Many Greater West Town students are low income and lack formal education and skills. Greater West Town graduates include non-high school graduates, ex-offenders, and low income or long-term unemployed.

"I love working with people," Mr. Redmond stated, "I love watching them go from one step to another. I've been here 17 years – I wouldn't trade this job in for the world."

Founded in 1988 (operating for 26 years), Greater West's mission is to improve the conditions of the Greater West Town community by bridging the gap between its unemployed workers and local businesses through education. Emphasizing the fact it's not about "fixing" individuals, rather building bridges, Greater West has put thousands of individuals to work.

Bird-X, Inc. was founded in 1964 and is the leading brand of humane bird and pest control, and is dedicated to protecting human health, wildlife and the environment in which we all live. The Chicago-based company manufactures a complete line of unique pest control products which are shipped worldwide, favored by government and private entities alike for an unmatched focus on quality, efficacy, and customer service.

Cozy Products offer low-wattage personal space heaters that focus on providing safe, economical, green, effective heating solutions.

Yates Motloid have provided dental lab market solutions for over 50 years. All products have been developed, manufactured, tested, approved, and used by many of the leading dental schools and labs throughout the world.

Bird-X and its affiliates have all been employing Greater West graduates for 8 years.

Pushing Boundaries Towards Independence and Improvement at Project Walk Paralysis Recovery Center? Las Vegas

Pushing Boundaries Towards Independence and Improvement at Project Walk Paralysis Recovery Center– Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) February 27, 2014

On a brisk Thanksgiving morning in 2011, Utah native Erik Rico, 24 was wrapping things up at work when he was asked to run one last errand before going home. Needing to load hay in a nearby town, Rico drove a forklift to finish the job. Shortly after leaving, Rico was rear-ended by a driver in a semi-truck who didn't see Rico in the forklift. Rico was taken to a Utah hospital where he was diagnosed as T-10 complete spinal cord injury and has since been dreaming of the independence that was taken on that fateful day.

Today, Rico is focused on making life in his wheelchair an afterthought and is gaining ground at the Project Walk Paralysis Recovery Center in Las Vegas, NV. With the support and love of his wife, Stacie; Rico has spent the last few weeks pushing boundaries and gaining momentum at Project Walk's newest facility.

"When I was in the ICU, the surgeon flat out said I better get used to my [wheel]chair because I will always be in it," says Rico. "That's a really hard thing to hear when you've just gone through something as horrific as the accident I went through." He adds, "I started doing research on alternatives because I didn't want to settle and found Project Walk's website online."

Based on The Dardzinski Method, Project Walk is the pioneer in activity-based recovery with nearly two decades of experience working with spinal cord injuries. It's the Project Walk mission to provide an improved quality of life for people living with a spinal cord injury, paralysis or mobility-related disorder through intense activity-based recovery backed by research and technology. Clients of Project Walk have come to revere their programs as some of the most forward-thinking recovery methods in the industry.

"My goal is to be more independent and have my body do some of the things it used to do before my accident," says Rico. "In the first week [at Project Walk], my Specialists saw muscle initiations in my legs which is an exciting first," says Rico.

Living with paralysis often means a life dependent on a caretaker or a loved one's help. For Rico, that very goal of greater independence is the reason for getting up and moving forward each day.

When asked to share his experience at Project Walk, Rico quickly said, "Definitely go [to Project Walk]! I've only been here a week and the program really does change your life. It's absolutely worth the time and effort to go."

Kevan Herbert Leads Apollo Cradles in Standedge Tunnel Shafts Project

Kevan Herbert Leads Apollo Cradles in Standedge Tunnel Shafts Project

Barnsley, South Yorkshire, UK (PRWEB UK) 22 April 2014

Apollo Cradles was recently commissioned to create bespoke circular platforms for Standedge Tunnel Shafts. These platforms could be raised and lowered as required at the touch of a button. The purpose of the overall project was to provide access for brickwork repair of 500ft deep shafts. The project was based around construction shafts at Standedge Canal and railway tunnels. They penetrate the Pennines between Diggle in Greater Manchester and Marsden, West Yorkshire and, due to brickwork deterioration through water ingress since their construction in the 1800′s, required re-lining and pressure pointing.

See the Standedge Tunnel Shafts project page here http://www.apollocradles.com/standedge.html.

Apollo Cradles X-beams were mounted across the top of the shafts to attach platform wires. The wires were subsequently threaded through the cores in the shaft caps and dropped down to a platform below.

Apollo designed and built bespoke circular platforms to suit the shaft diameters which were fitted with electric winches. This enabled the platforms to travel up and down the 500ft deep shafts, giving the workforce full access to the shaft linings.

Kevan Herbert, Managing Director of Apollo Cradles, commented about the project and experience:

"This is another example of our ideas, teamwork and experience coming together to solve another difficult access problem. We have the experienced design teams and teams of riggers capable of solving any access problem. Congratulations to our riggers on a job well done in difficult conditions."

Apollo Cradles, specialists in supplying and installing temporary access solutions, has successfully completed many similar projects. The company supplies suspended access platforms (or cradles) for hire. Cradles are suspended platforms (hung from cables) which allows workers to work safely at heights. Cradles are the ideal solution when scaffolding, scissor lifts, ladders and cherry pickers are unsuitable.

Mast climber solutions are also supplied by Apollo. These can provide an effective alternative to scaffolding and consist of a powered elevating work platform fixed to either single or twin vertical masts.

Since many projects require bespoke temporary access solutions, Apollo Cradles can provide custom design and production whenever it is deemed necessary.

The company is so committed to safety whilst working at height that The FallArrescue system was developed specifically for the company (by Getmie Safe Ltd). This patent applied for safety device is certified to EN341 and descent is controlled by centrifugal braking. It is CE marked and has been tested by Dekra Exam gmbh, D-44809 Bochum, Germany.

A pragmatic approach to each project is taken with work being properly planned and supervised. Parts of Apollo's processes involve checking that people hired to perform working at height tasks have sufficient skills, experience and knowledge to perform the tasks. Any workers employed by Apollo are qualified to CSCS Gold card in suspended access and hold the following levels of experience and training:

Work at Height

Confined Spaces

Roof Working

Harness Work and Inspection

Restraint and Fall Arrest

Fallarrescue

Thorough Examination

Slinger Banksmen

Telehandler and Forklift

Newer members of the team have attained NVQs in Suspended Access.

With over 25 years' experience providing temporary access solutions, Apollo Cradles is a trusted name within the industry, renowned for rigorous training and health & safety standards. The Standedge Tunnel Shafts Project is yet another successful project for the highly regarded Apollo Cradles team to be proud of.

ForkliftArticles.com Examines Major Role of Hyster Forklift's Customer Service to Help Maintain its Leadership in Highly Competitive Industry

ForkliftArticles.com Examines Major Role of Hyster Forklift's Customer Service to Help Maintain its Leadership in Highly Competitive Industry

Moorestown, NJ (PRWEB) December 18, 2012

An article about Hyster Forklifts on a popular new website dedicated to the material-handling industry demonstrates the important relationships between quality products and excellent customer service. ForkliftArticles.com reports that among the twenty top material-handling companies in the industry, those that are most successful tend to devote as much attention to service after the sale as they do to product quality. The Hyster Forklift Company has an enviable reputation in the highly competitive forklift industry. It produces six types of forklifts and boasts of being at the forefront of technology and design in the industry.

Hyster is a brand name marketed by NACCO Industries of Cleveland, Ohio that emerged from the logging industry of the Pacific Northwest in 1929. Because of its relationship to the logging industry, it initially was associated with heavy duty lift trucks – the kind that could lift extremely heavy payloads. So from its beginnings, the company earned an early reputation for product durability. That reputation trickled down to smaller sized equipment and remains with the company to this day. Hyster Forklift Dealers have a strong and diverse global presence and are in the forefront in the delivery of quality products.

But according to the ForkliftArticles.com analysis of top forklift companies, product reputation is not enough to keep a company on the top of the sales and profits pyramid. As the article states, Hyster learned early on that beyond extensive product field testing, the company has to pay an equal amount of attention to customer research and product satisfaction. They involve their customers in ergonomic research in order to design equipment compatible with driver comfort and safety. Extensive user surveys are taken before the engineers complete their equipment design work.

Even more important, the article goes on to report, is the creation of a strong dealer support network which promotes fleet management, parts supplies, equipment maintenance, capital procurement and operator training. Hyster also has one of the best Financing Departments in the industry. Hyster Forklift Sales are successful throughout the world because of their strong customer support philosophy.

So while ForliftArticles.com uses a lot of space to promote the sale of new and used forklifts, it speaks volumes about customer service as the hallmark of any good company, citing the major forklift companies, like Hyster, as models of extensive customer service programs to sustain loyalty to its brand.

A Plus Warehouse Announces the 2013 Racking Round Up Promotion

A Plus Warehouse Announces the 2013 Racking Round Up Promotion

Lynx Pallet Rack

San Francisco,CA (PRWEB) January 11, 2013

A Plus Warehouse is now offering the Racking Round Up Promotion.

Warehouses and store rooms need racking, and racking is a popular line at A Plus Warehouse. Many customers spend time with loading dock equipment and forklifts, but neglect racking in warehouse design. The racking round up promotion is in place to inform customers about the great range of racking available at A Plus Warehouse.

According to Ed Stairman, "Racking is very important for efficient storage in warehouses. A Plus Warehouse has a great range of racking for sale". When Mr. Stairman states that a great range of racking is available, he means that A Plus Warehouse provides racking for most uses. Here is a partial list of the types of racking available through A Plus Warehouse:

(1) Pallet Racks – Pallet racks are used when storing bulk loads. Pallet racks are intended for use with forklifts. A Plus Warehouse ships most pallet racks in 24 hours. Specialties include Wireway Husky's Lynx Rack and Invincible racking

(2) Bulk Racks – Bulk racks can be confused with pallet racks as they look similar. Bulk racks are intended for hand loading. Some bulk rack lines include Durham, Penco, Lyons, and Scotland Rack. Customers should remember to order rolling ladders for higher shelf access when ordering bulk racks

(3) Rivet Racks – Racking that fits together with riveted components. The only tool required to install a rivet rack is a simple rubber mallet.

(4) Structural Pallet Rack – Extra heavy duty industrial rack for the most demanding tasks. A Plus Warehouse shows structural rack with pricing. Industry standard is for customers to request quotations. A Plus Warehouse makes it more convenient by offering the most popular structural components as a standard. Customers are encouraged to request special sizes if they are required.

(5) Can Racks – Industrial food service operations need ready access to many food cans. A can rack provides convenient storage and access. Customers that order can racks typically need stainless steel equipment as well. A Plus Warehouse provides stainless steel conveyors and stainless steel cabinets as well.

(6) Drum Racks – Drum racks have nothing to do with musical instruments when dealing with A Plus Warehouse. Metal chemical drums can be stored safely and conveniently on racking customized with drum cradles. Meco and SPG both manufacture excellent Drum Racks

Having been in business since 1996 , A Plus Warehouse has quite a bit of experience with racking , and the sales people are ready to help with customer requirements. A Plus Warehouse makes ordering pallet racking easier by offering pre-configured units with or without wire decks. Pre-configured pallet racks are available not only in tear drop style , but also in Lynx style. Lynx is inspired by the quality Penco Pallet Rack line. Lynx uprights can be used with an existing Penco system , but A Plus Warehouse suggests keeping with one manufacturer per installation. Penco racks are a fine product just as Wireway Husky's Lynx Rack.

A Plus Warehouse is a nationwide materials handling dealer specializing in racking needs. Feel free to call A Plus Warehouse at 800-209-8798

Smart Authentication to Tackle BYOD Issues: Latest Market Size, Shares and Research Report by Researchmoz.us

Smart Authentication to Tackle BYOD Issues: Latest Market Size, Shares and Research Report by Researchmoz.us

ResearchMOZ

Albany, NY (PRWEB) April 12, 2014

BYOD experience relates to employee-owned devices being used for work. Such an employee mindset evolution may trigger changes in the whole corporate IT ecosystem, as the BYOD trend implies corporate data to travel outside a secure local network.

Browse Full report with TOC at http://www.researchmoz.us/smart-authentication-to-tackle-byod-issues-report.html.

This is why corporate IT departments are striving to adopt authentication solutions to be used on employee-owned mobile devices to secure corporate data. Smart mobile authentication devices ensure that only the right person with right information access privileges gets his hand on the corporate data. Traditional smart solutions used for logical access include smart cards, One-Time-Password (OTP) generators and USB tokens. Today, we can state as a fact that software solutions in some way cannibalize smart authentication solutions.

Nonetheless, this report establishes that BYOD software authentication solution shipments that will reach 223 million units by 2018 (CAGR of 27%) will not overthrow more secure and robust smart hardware authenticators. BYOD hardware authentication solution shipments will reach 343 million units by 2018 (CAGR of 46%).

Record History of Anyplace On Cyber Plaque

Record History of Anyplace On Cyber Plaque®

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) February 22, 2014

Cyber Plaque® is a new website where anyone can easily add anything about anyplace, for free. Historical markers, often in bronze or stone, commemorate something of importance or interest about a place. Yet there are millions of locations that may be notable to someone that have no physical marker. That need is met in cyber space at http://www.cyberplaque.com.

Cyber Plaque® offers fascinating and often unique information about specific locations. "I was dismayed that fans of the late poet Charles Bukowski were denied their request for a historical plaque for his apartment by Philadelphia's City Council," said Frank Chmielewski, creator of Cyber Plaque®. "After I discovered that Abraham Lincoln gave a speech at what is now an abandoned dollar store, with nothing to mark the site, I went to work on Cyber Plaque®."

"On Cyber Plaque®, you decide what is interesting," said Chmielewski. "If you think there ought to be a plaque, you create it." Something may be remarkable about a place that most people have forgotten but you have not. This is your chance to add it to the historical record. There could be a place with some history that goes unnoticed as people pass it every day. Or, there may be a building that needs to be saved and preserved.

On Cyber Plaque®, find the childhood home of someone famous, or the site of a concert by a once unknown rock star. Find that a battlefield is now a parking lot, or that a wine cellar had been a part of the Underground Railroad. Discover that a college in Delaware now occupies the site of the factory where reggae legend Bob Marley was a forklift driver. Immortalize the house where your grandfather was born.

It can be a lengthy and often unsuccessful process to convince a bureaucratic body to commission a memorial plaque. Anyone can decide what is important about a place and easily create a Cyber Plaque®. In truth, more people may view it online than would see a real plaque in person. Anyone can become his or her own historical commission at http://www.cyberplaque.com.
