CertifyMe.net Shares OSHA's Top 10 Most Cited Violations with Proof of Forklift Certification Coming in at # 6

CertifyMe.net Shares OSHA's Top 10 Most Cited Violations with Proof of Forklift Certification Coming in at # 6

Phoenix,AZ (PRWEB) November 08, 2011

CertifyMe.net, an online forklift certification website, has taken note of OSHA's Top 10 Most Cited Violations during 2010. This company, which focuses on training equipment operators to be the safest in their industries, pays close attention to OSHA violations, working to avoid them.

During 2010, the most cited violations were:

1.    Scaffolding, general

2.    Fall Protection

3.    Hazard Communication

4.    Respiratory Protection

5.    Ladders

6.    Lockout/Tagout

7.    Electrical, Wiring Methods

8.    Powered Industrial Trucks

9.    Electrical, General

10.    Machine Guarding

According to Thomas Galassi, director of OSHA's directorate of enforcement programs, OSHA made approximately 94,000 citations in fiscal year 2010. The list of Top 10 included nearly 49 percent of all total violations issued.

CertifyMe.net provides veteran forklift operators all the steps needed to train new forklift operators on the job and meets all the OSHA standards for safety compliance. The program enables employers to create on-site training of forklift operators, saving them from expensive off-site programs that cost the business lost work, overtime hours and thousands of dollars.

"It was positive to see that violations in the heavy equipment arena were not a major part of the 2010 citations, " says Tom Wilkerson, founder of CertifytMe.net. " Our goal is to help businesses maintain the safest environments with the most cost-effective and comprehensive safety training. Companies aren't sure how to get certified. Many businesses believe that government regulations require them to purchase expensive, second-party training programs for their workforce. This can be prohibitively expensive and very inefficient," says Wilkerson. "We offer online forklift certification and training program tools to seasoned forklift operators that 'trains the trainer' how to instruct new operators. The package includes everything needed, including forklift certification tests and certification wallet cards showing compliance with OSHA standards. In many cases, this creates an even safer workplace environment because the trainers are actually well acquainted with the specific equipment and unique workplace in which the operators will be functioning."

As part of the employee training kit, CertifyMe.net offers free 3-year re-certification opportunities, saving even more expense for businesses that use heavy equipment.

The program, which is available at http://www.CertifyMe.net, costs as low as $ 49.95 per trained employee. The robust program is self-paced and offers opportunity to train employees whenever and wherever it is most effective for the employer and staff.     The program typically will be utilized at the specific workplace, allowing trainers to highlight unique safety hazards and conditions of the business.

When the forklift certification test is completed, the program provides all required proof of safety training that OSHA requires, including certificates and compliance cards for employees.

The forklift-training program is available in a variety of formats. It can be downloaded from the Internet, or a training kit can be sent by mail.

CertifyMe.net was created in 1999 as a provider of workplace training programs. Initiated by professional rigger Tom Wilkerson, the company's goal is to provide simplified, efficient and cost-effective training programs for businesses. CertifyMe.net programs are designed to offer comprehensive training by experienced, seasoned operators in the existing workplace, thereby creating a safer environment while avoiding unnecessary off-site training expenses and overtime fees. Since its inception, thousands of companies throughout the nation have utilized CertifyMe.net programs, including Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. For more information about the forklift certification and training program, visit http://www.CertifyMe.net.

Webmarketing123 Reports on First Annual State of Digital Marketing Survey Results

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) November 02, 2011

Webmarketing123 is announcing the results of their first annual State of Digital Marketing survey, spanning across the areas of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising, and Social Media Marketing (SMM). Over 500 B2B and B2C marketing professionals participated in the survey between August and September 2011.

The survey results show that while lead generation and sales are the top two most important objectives of digital marketing, SEO makes the biggest impact on lead generation across the board. Webmarketing123's collected data reveals that 53% of all participants say SEO makes the biggest impact on lead generation, followed by 28% for PPC and 19% for social media. As B2B companies direct their marketing initiatives towards gathering more leads, B2C companies dedicate most advertising weight towards producing more sales. In both cases, the survey results demonstrate that SEO currently provides the greatest opportunity for marketers in the digital space.

In terms of social media, the survey response showed that 75% of B2C companies are the most active on Facebook while B2B companies are active more evenly across all three leading networks: 35% Facebook, 26% Twitter, and 25% LinkedIn. Social media is also fueling profits. 68% of marketers say they have generated leads from social media sites and over 55% of them have reported closing deals from social media leads. Moving into 2012, digital marketers will be increasing their budgets and social media is expected to make the biggest jump in investment.

"Search optimization is now, more than ever, a 'must' in the digital marketing world," said Paul Taylor, CEO of Webmarketing123. "In our survey, SEO has been confirmed as the most important program to integrate into a business's online marketing efforts. According to a recent study by McKinsey & Company, businesses that engage in search engine optimization achieve an average ROI of 7 to 1. This is valuable data that further supports the findings from our survey."

Whether clicking on paid ads, engaging in social media, or searching for a product or solution, people are spending significant time on search engines every day. As SEO grows its impact on global industry trends and corporate profitability, marketers are experiencing increasing pressure in the online advertising space to generate more leads and boost lead quality. As 2012 approaches, search technology will continue to strengthen its influence on business' market share and their online visibility among competition. The importance of campaign optimization across the platforms of SEO, PPC, and social media is will become even greater. Black Rhino Custom Wheels for Off Road Trucks and SUV's Introduces the Ocotillo Wheel

The Ocotillo Wheel by Black Rhino Wheels for Off Road Trucks and SUV's

Huntington Beach, CA (Vocus) June 4, 2010

Named after the renowned off-road recreation park Ocotillo Wells in Southern California, the new Ocotillo wheel by Black Rhino Wheels for Trucks and SUV's is a high performance, tough, thick skin alloy wheel built to carry heaving loads. The Ocotillo is a classic six-spoke truck wheel with stainless steel rivets that highlight the smooth rolling lip. The wheel has a clean yet aggressive look.

"Black Rhino wheels are well built, tough looking wheels designed with the off road truck and SUV enthusiast in mind," says Terence Scheckter, President of Black Rhino Wheels. "The Ocotillo truck wheel was designed to enhance the look of stock or lifted trucks and is offered in two finishes - solid Matte Black and Gloss Black with a Machined Cut Face."

These wheels are built for two types of vehicles - the off road truck or SUV with extreme lift and the more street friendly stock or mildly lifted vehicle. The wheels are built with a range of offsets for either vehicle type. Ocotillo wheels give an aggressive stance to those off road trucks with an extreme lift, and enhance the look of stock or mildly lifted trucks and SUV's, setting them apart from other vehicles.

"Each wheel is engineered to carry the heavy loads often associated with off road Trucks and SUV's," says Terence Scheckter. As with all Black Rhino wheels, the Ocotillo wheels are made to extremely strict manufacturing standards. Black Rhino Wheels are designed to be hub-centric or are supplied with centering rings to ensure a smooth vibration free ride. They embody more than 30 years of design experience.

Global Hydraulic Equipment Market to Reach US$49.6 Billion by 2017, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

Global Hydraulic Equipment Market to Reach US$ 49.6 Billion by 2017, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) November 14, 2011

Follow us on LinkedIn - Hydraulic equipment, a key constituent of the fluid power industry, outdistances the nearest competing technology - pneumatic equipment, leveraging on the strength of robust demand from end-use applications. Hydraulic equipment is applied in various processes and systems owing to their consistency and robust nature that distinguishes it from other forms of motion control equipment. To satisfy demand for enhanced system performance from end users, suppliers are inclined to integrate hydraulic equipment with electronics. This integration enables features such as improved accuracy, enhanced functionality, easy-to-use and controlled performance. Manufacturing prowess tends to vary across geographic markets with Australian companies specializing in the valves segment, while US companies remain renowned for their expertise in the pumps segment and German majors focusing on fluid systems used in defense. Germany also boasts of being the world's largest manufacturer of hydraulic mining shovels in spite of the fact that there exists no domestic demand for the product in the country.

The global hydraulic equipment market suffered a severe setback in the years 2008, 2009 and 2010 due to the recent economic recession. The erosion in market value was attributed to the then hurting construction and industrial machinery sector, which represent two of the most prominent end-use markets for hydraulic equipment across the globe. Sale of earthmoving and mining equipment came under the yoke of the recession with shortages in finances and budgetary constrains suppressing demand. Additionally, lethargy in construction activity in most parts of the world, particularly the industrialized nations, tranquilized demand for most construction equipment such as forklifts, construction cranes, road rollers and ground machines, all of which use mobile hydraulic components. With industries such as textile, paper, rubber working, beverage, plastics also bearing the brunt of financial meltdown, demand for hydraulic components used in industrial machinery slipped southwards. Easing of lending restrictions and recovery in construction and mining industries in the post recession period is expected to re-infuse vigor into the demand patterns in the market.

Maturing markets, advancement of technology, high volume purchases made by OEMs and pressurized margins represent characteristic traits of the hydraulic equipment market. Some small and medium sized companies and divisions of large business enterprises are eyeing targeted marketing as their only route to survival and growth. With hydraulic equipment market essentially tipping towards newer revenue segments, away from the industry's cash cows, manufacturers are focusing on unconventional and emerging product markets. For instance, advancements in programmable controls are portending brighter growth opportunities for valves, cylinders and power packs as against pumps, motors and other equipment. While power packs are likely to witness strong growth, accumulators and filters are treading towards steadier revenue growth. As a result, niche marketing and application-specific new product development are becoming common in the hydraulic valve market. Companies concentrating on core product areas and technologies are posting strong growth rates in addition to elimination of cost based competition through product differentiation.

Growing popularity of the Internet and distinct cost advantages associated with online marketing are encouraging companies to host online procurement and marketing operations. Electronic procurement and online cataloging are current trends in the marketing of industrial and mobile products. Virtual markets offer wider access to markets, source best deals, expedite procurement and distribution processes, and eliminate costs of intermediaries, thereby driving tremendous gains for the manufacturers. Growth within the mature global hydraulic equipment industry will continue to be derived mainly from the replacement parts and accessories sector.

As stated by the new market research report on Hydraulic Equipment, the US continues to remain the largest regional market for hydraulic equipment. Asia-Pacific is the fastest growing regional market for hydraulic equipment with dollar sales from the region waxing at a CAGR about 6.2% over the analysis period. Growth in infrastructure facilities, manufacturing plants, and housing, particularly in developing markets such as China and India, is creating the need for hydraulic equipment in the region. Expansion of coal plants for energy production in India and China continues to lend traction to hydraulic equipment market in the region, particularly for hydraulic valves. Pumps and Motors represents one of the fastest growing product segments worldwide.

Major players in the marketplace include Bailey International Corporation, Bosch Rexroth Corporation, Daikin Industries Ltd., Dongyang Mechatronics Corporation, Eaton Corporation, Feintool International Holding AG, Iskra Avtoelektrika d.d., KYB Co., Ltd, Moog, Inc., Nabtesco Corporation, Nachi-Fujikoshi Corp, Parker Hannifin Corporation, Sauer-Danfoss Inc, Toshiba Machine Co Ltd, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering Ltd., and Yuken Kogyo Co Ltd.

The research report titled "Hydraulic Equipment: A Global Strategic Business Report" announced by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., provides a comprehensive review of market trends, issues, drivers, company profiles, mergers, acquisitions and other strategic industry activities. The report provides market estimates and projections in value sales for major geographic markets including the United States, Canada, Japan, Europe (France, Germany, Italy, UK, Spain, Russia and Rest of Europe), Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Latin America. Key segments analyzed in the report include Accumulators and Filters, Cylinders, Power Packs, Pumps and Motors, and Valves, among others.

EMSCO Recycles as Brookdale Mall is Demolished

EMSCO Recycles as Brookdale Mall is Demolished

Fridley, MN (PRWEB) October 01, 2011

Electric Motor Supply Company (EMSCO), one of the largest dealers of used industrial electrical equipment, announces the completion of a major reclamation project. Emsco just recently completed removing electrical equipment from Brookdale Mall during its demolition.

Brookdale Center was a regional shopping mall in Brooklyn Center, MN, which opened in 1962. It became the 3rd mall in the Twin Cities, after Southdale Center and Apache Plaza. After a long decline, the mall closed in 2010. Demolition on this Mall was recently started and EMSCO has spent over 5 weeks removing electrical equipment that will be refurbished and stocked in its Minnesota warehouse. Equipment included were transformers, breaker panels, wiring and switchgear. The equipment was clean and in very good condition.

EMSCO's crew was able to work around the various construction personnel, forklifts and other heavy equipment operators to get the electrical equipment removed and loaded on to trucks to be taken to its warehouse in Fridley, MN. The equipment reclamation schedule had to be in sync with other timelines associated with the demolition.

On October 15th, 2010, after multiple redevelopment plans for the failed mall were suggested and attempted, plans were finally announced by Gatlin Development Co., a Tennessee based firm, to acquire the Brookdale Shopping Center and in conjunction with the city of Brooklyn Center to transform the mostly vacant mall into a new shopping center anchored by a Wal-Mart Supercenter. The announcement included the following plans:

     • Rename the center "Shingle Creek Crossing"

     • Tear down most of the existing structure, but leave the recently constructed food court in place

     • Build a 150,000-sq foot Wal-Mart Supercenter which would include a grocery store

     • Build or redevelop an additional 435,000 sq. feet of leasable retail space

     • Add 8 restaurant pad sites and 2 multiple tenant or service buildings

     • Create a green creek space by resurrecting and excavation of Shingle Creek, a stream that was buried in s subterranean culvert under the parking lot when the center was first constructed in the 1960s.

Electric Motor Supply Company (EMSCO) is the largest used and refurbished electrical equipment dealer in the U.S. EMSCO is a family owned business that was started in 1948.

EMSCO has a 250,000 sq. foot warehouse and has most brands and styles of a variety of industrial electrical equipment right under our roof. There is 16 miles of bus way, thousands of bus plugs, transformers, circuit breakers, motor control centers, medium voltage gear, electric motors and many different sizes of switchgear. EMSCO stocks most major brands including Westinghouse, General Electric, ABB, Federal Pacific, ITE/Gould, Siemens-Allis, Square-D and more.

EMSCO is conveniently located just outside of Minneapolis. We are about 1 1/2 miles south of Interstate 694, just off of University Avenue. We would like to invite you to stop in the next time you are in our area, no appointment necessary.

Toyota Hosts Lean Manufacturing Training

Toyota Hosts Lean Manufacturing Training

Hands-On Exercises

Boulder, Colorado (PRWEB) November 17, 2011

One of the world leaders in Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Material Handling USA, will be hosting an advanced training session at its Columbus, Indiana plant on February 14-16, 2012. Presented by the Lean Factory Group, of which Toyota is a member, the course is focused on how to design an optimum production line based on Lean methods. The 3-day event includes a daily tour of the Toyota fork-lift facility, which was voted "Plant of the Year" in 2010 by Plant Engineering Magazine.

How to design a high-performing production line is at the heart of the Toyota Production System and Lean Manufacturing, and yet the method is unclear to many production managers and Lean practitioners. This workshop presents the proven line design methodology in a step-by-step fashion, starting with planning and data collection, and finishing with management guidelines once the line is running. Learning in the classroom is reinforced with both hands-on exercises with real production hardware, and live examples from the Toyota plant itself.

"Lean Manufacturing has become a requirement in most industries today", says Richard Rahn, President of the Lean Factory Group. "Even so, knowledge of how to design a mixed-model production line, one of the most fundamental skills needed by Lean practitioners, is often totally lacking." One indicator of a sub-optimum line design is the excessive need for 'Kaizen' or continuous improvement. Organizations can invest years of effort on 'Kaizen Events' without addressing the root cause of the problem, a poor line design. "Improvement is a core Lean value", says Rahn, "but why not do it right the first time?"

Students learn best by doing, and this Advanced Workshop includes the actual implementation of all of the line design tools in a simulation environment. Participants will design the production environment, and then build a mixed-model product. Once a day participants will also compare what was learned in the classroom to what is actually done at in a high-performing Lean factory. The plant tours will be led by seasoned Toyota experts.

California-Based Developer of Inflatable Survival Shelters Life Cube, Inc. Lands Funding Round to Finance Production and Accelerate Growth

California-Based Developer of Inflatable Survival Shelters Life Cube, Inc. Lands Funding Round to Finance Production and Accelerate Growth

Life Cube shelter in use at Emergency Response staging area at St. John's Regional Medical Center following Joplin, Missouri tornado.

Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) June 08, 2011

Life Cube, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of inflatable and instantly deployable survival shelters, has secured a new round of venture funding company officials announced today. Details about the size of the investment and the source of the funds were not disclosed, except that it was from a private Canadian investment firm. Life Cube Inc. was founded is 2009 and designs several versions of the Life Cube emergency shelter which are manufactured in Santa Barbara, Calif. and central Florida.

Founder of Life Cube, Inc., Michael Conner said the capital will be used to underwrite several production runs of the latest generation of the military-grade, weather-resistant shelter which were recently exhibited at a United Nations disaster preparedness conference in Geneva, Switzerland and a FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) National Level Exercise in Missouri.

"This funding comes at a particularly opportune time because organizations involved in emergency response are increasingly focusing on preparedness instead of reacting after disaster strikes, an approach that the Life Cube is ideally suited to support," Mr. Conner stated. "Government agencies, NGOs and humanitarian aid groups are uniformly adopting a strategy of pre-positioning food, water, medicine and shelters in areas most likely to need help due to extreme weather, earthquake or civil strife which we believe will result in thousands of orders for various versions of the Life Cube. European agencies and stakeholders in the developing world are leading the way in this regard and that mindset is spreading into domestic emergency preparedness programs."

According to Mr. Conner, a wide spectrum of military contractors, emergency responders and humanitarian aid experts that have seen the Life Cube in action at recent conferences and events have been highly impressed with its life-saving, quick response potential. Just last week, he added, a Life Cube shelter was deployed in Joplin, Missouri to provide shelter and assistance to aid workers at St. John's Regional Medical Center as they tended to victims of the powerful EF-5 scale (greater than 200 miles per hour) tornado that tore through the city of 50,000 on May 22nd.

"Because shelter is an essential aspect of surviving the elements following a disaster, a ready-to-use, stackable, fork-lift friendly shelter in the field is ideally suited to meet the new commitment of first responders to deliver aid within hours instead of days," said Pamela Voge, Director of External Affairs for Life Cube, Inc., "Each model of the Life Cube ships fully supplied in a rugged cube-shaped container and can be air-dropped or delivered on a pick-up or flatbed truck. When deployed the containers convert into a hard surface floor and the Life Cube can house up to five people for five days with food and water without outside assistance. Our goal is to have Life Cubes within a three-hour flight or half-day drive from any place on the planet that has been hit by disaster and where people are in need."

Designed and manufactured completely in the U.S., the Life Cube shelter comes complete with a self-sufficient power system, Global Positioning System, water filtration devices, propane cook top, first aid kits, ready-to-eat meals (MREs) and a wide variety of essential survival supplies. Mr. Conner said he invented his "shelter in a cube" idea after witnessing the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico region and the massive Kashmir earthquake in Pakistan, both of which occurred in 2005 and left a wake of death with millions of victims without shelter for weeks or months.

About Life Cube, Inc:

Founded in 2009 and based in Santa Barbara, CA, Life Cube, Inc. is a specialist in rapid deployment shelter technologies. The genesis of the Life Cube system began when entrepreneur Michael Conner witnessed the devastation in 2005 wrought by Hurricane Katrina and a massive earthquake in Pakistan. Watching humanitarian efforts, it became clear to him that a quickly deployable, portable shelter could be enormously helpful in providing life-saving shelter and supporting on-the-ground operations by aid workers. Mr. Conner immediately committed himself to invent an entirely new class of transportable shelter – one that would combine the advantages of a canvas tent, the ruggedness and utility of a trailer, with the speed and expandability of breakthrough inflatable technology. The result is the Life Cube. Today Life Cube, Inc. is a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of innovative air-beam shelters for a variety of markets and uses.

Stop-painting.com Improves Design of Superior Mark Corner, Creating the First Puzzle Cut Mitered Floor Marking

Stop-painting.com Improves Design of Superior Mark Corner, Creating the First Puzzle Cut Mitered Floor Marking

New floor marking tape features puzzle cut miter

(PRWEB) June 09, 2011

Earlier this year InSite debuted its Superior Mark Corner, manufactured with their patent pending Superior Mark floor marking tape. The design features beveled edges and recessed adhesive to maximize durability. Their functionality is especially appreciated in large industrial facilities that are not only required to mark their floors to comply with OSHA regulations, but also utilize floor marking systems to improve organization and efficiency. Marking the floors of industrial environments is a challenge given the nature of the heavy traffic, such as forklifts that drag and push heavy skids around the clock.

Superior Mark Corners are often used to create boxes on industrial floor, to delineate spaces for equipment or materials. Corner markers are also very useful when marking aisles and passageways. When these paths have to change direction, corners can be used to cleanly and quickly mark a ninety degree turn in the path.

Workplace efficiency programs like 5S and Lean are examples of conceptual models that preach the value creating of color coded visual workplace. Superior Mark Corners come in six colors, meaning there are 15 different possible color combinations that can be used to create color codes with various meanings. One of the qualities that makes a good 5S floor tape is the ability to remove the tape to accommodate layout changes. Superior Mark is completely removable, does not damage floors, and leaves little to no residue. This quality makes it a great solution for facilities that practice Lean and 5S.

The improved design now features a puzzle cut miter and a quick pull liner. The puzzle cut miter is a way to consistently form the miter. Employees responsible for maintaining floor markings can easily align the two pieces that form the L-shaped floor marker, by simply fitting the pieces of the puzzle together to form a seamless joint. This is a big improvement over previous methods of forming corners. Typically forming a corner with floor tape meant overlapping two pieces of tape and performing a butt splice, a process that could easily take 10 minutes. With the new puzzle cut mitered corner, the process only takes a few seconds.

In addition, the new quick pull liner also speeds the installation process. Other corner markers on the market typically have a liner that is slightly recessed behind the tape, making it tedious to peel. The new quick pull liner is a very thin piece of film that extends beyond the edge of the tape about a millimeter, just enough to easily grab hold of the liner.

"I hate to call something idiot-proof, but that's what it is," says Insite owner and creator of Superior Mark Cliff Lowe. "Superior Mark Corners are the most durable corner marker because they are the only ones on the market with beveled edges all the way around, which protect the adhesive from forklift abuse." The idea behind the product was to make floor marking programs easier to maintain. Since maintenance and repair of floor markings is inevitable in these abusive industrial environments, InSite Solutions strives to make the process as efficient as possible.

To request a free sample of Superior Mark floor tape and Corners, visit the manufacturer's website, http://www.stop-painting.com. Stop-painting.com is the leading expert on industrial floor marking and designs floor marking solutions for traffic control, Lean/5S organization, industrial safety, OSHA compliance, and other custom applications. The parent company, InSite Solutions, holds a patent for a traffic marking tape design. For more information, please contact Cliff Lowe at 1-866-284-1541.

Labor Law Posters That Need To Be Changed This Year Are California and Florida Postings; Recommended By State and Federal Poster, Inc to Help Business Stay Up To Date

Labor Law Posters That Need To Be Changed This Year Are California and Florida Postings; Recommended By State and Federal Poster, Inc to Help Business Stay Up To Date

California Labor Law Posters

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 11, 2011

Human resource managers should be aware of all labor posting updates as soon as it is released to the public. Before you purchase your new labor law posters for the year, be sure that they are laminated, that they are the most current and compliant with the law.

Businesses should also carry safety posters next to labor law posters if their are any safety hazards that need to be addressed that is not in the safety policy of the company manual. This will insure all employees are well aware of their rights and safety issues that might occur.

Companies that have forklifts for example must carry forklift posters to instruct their employees of the company's safety policy. If an employee is injured, this will help prevent some liability issues that might arise in the court that the company was being negligent in safety training.

The changes for this year:

California and Florida labor law posters have changed twice. California labor law posters have changed their Family Medical Leave Act and Pregnancy Leave act laws within the last 3 months. Florida change changed their minimum wage from $ 7.25 to $ 7.31 per hour. The workers compensation has also changed the "If you are injured on the job", "Anti-Fraud Reward Program", and "Description of Workers' Compensation" sections of the notice.

Labor law posters and safety posters however cannot replace a company manual that all corporations should have. All companies have different ideas of safety, the posters will supplement greatly.

Intercept Technology Packaging Honored by Packaging Council of Australia

Intercept Technology Packaging Honored by Packaging Council of Australia

Award-Winning Packaging of Seasprite Helicopter by Under-Raps

Braintree, MA (PRWEB) July 19, 2011

Liberty Packaging Co.'s Intercept Technology Group colleague, Under-Raps of Australia, won the 2010 Silver prize in the "Viscount Plastics Packaging for Industry Award" sponsored by Packaging Council of Australia. This award category is for outstanding developments in industrial packaging and includes packaging in the following categories: bulk transport, catering (from receptions to airplanes), manufacturing components for further assembly, machinery, hospital and medical supplies, supermarkets and others. Judging is based on technical, logistical and/or functional developments which promote efficiency, sustainability and/or reduce environmental impact. "The Award recipients in the Viscount Plastics Packaging for Industry Award are congratulated for capturing the true spirit of what this Award is about - innovation, invention and technical advancement in the industrial environment," noted Senior Judge Bill Seppelt, Packaging Council of Australia.

The Intercept Technology Group consists of Liberty Packaging, Under-Raps, and other companies worldwide, dedicated to the advancement of the Intercept Technology™ protective packaging. The award-winning package: "Under-Raps Break Bulk Packaging" combined heat shrink technology with large format anti-corrosion film (Intercept) epitomizes the Intercept tool; Under-Raps designed and developed a valuable solution for the packaging of large complex objects like helicopters, marine craft, mining equipment and sensitive electronic control rooms. Packaging Council of Australia CEO Gavin Williams added, "This year's Australian Packaging Awards, for industry, demonstrate that packaging innovation is alive and well and is delivering benefits to customers, consumers and the broader Australian community."

The Packaging Council of Australia's Award Description for the Under-Raps Award is as follows: "In Australia, large equipment is often trucked over gravel roads, loaded in salty ports and delivered to dusty mining sites. The anti-corrosion LDPE film protects against dust, rain, rust, insects and even adds a quarantine barrier. The use of highest quality 'first-oil' plastic is offset in part by the elimination of anti-corrosion cleaning processes required previously. The inclusion of a unique zipper feature means packs can be opened and resealed for forklift use, inspection or fumigation access. This eliminates the need to cut and reseal or rewrap during loading operations. The concept saves time, money, handling, leaks, cleaning, and protects against deterioration, damage, and returns. The logistical improvement is significant and judges were impressed by the creative approach and technical ingenuity demonstrated by this entry."

About Under-Raps:

Under-Raps exclusively imports the Corrosion Intercept and Static Intercept ranges of anti-corrosion packaging products into Australia and New Zealand and is highly regarded as a packaging leader within the oil and gas industry in Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines.

About Liberty Packaging:

Liberty Packaging Co., Inc., provides Intercept Technology corrosion and static protection products to large and small manufacturing operations on the East Coast, USA, as well as packing and crating suppliers, general distributors, medical and special packaging suppliers.

Retailers Celebrate WM-Nano, the World?s First Tabletop Automatic Wrapper

Retailers Celebrate WM-Nano, the World's First Tabletop Automatic Wrapper

(PRWEB) August 04, 2011

It's not hard to see why WM-Nano, the world's first tabletop automatic wrapper, was one of the top 10 most innovative products at Canada's 2011 Grocery Showcase West. Until recently there's been little middle ground in wrapping equipment. Retailers could choose a small, manual station or a room-sized automatic machine. But now, Ishida's WM-Nano offers another choice.

At just 28" wide, 34" deep, and 28" high, the WM-Nano is a unique concept, a tabletop wrapper with an integrated scale-base and printer, offering all the benefits and features of a full-size automatic machine at a modest size and price tag.

Retailers no longer have to sacrifice floor space or make a huge investment to gain productivity. The WM-Nano boosts output as high as 15 packages per minute (PPM), while reducing the risk of repetitive motion injuries and achieving the same attractive, quality wrap every time, regardless of operator.

By cutting space requirements 50 to 70 percent over competitor models, WM-Nano fits almost anywhere and accommodates a wide range of products and tray sizes. Its four-part modular design is easy to install or take apart. No forklifts required. Fully assembled, WM-Nano is lightweight and easily transported by just two people.

Controlled by Ishida's Uni-7 price-computing scale base and printer, WM-Nano brings the same user interface right from the front counter to the back room, where operators won't have to learn second type of equipment. Uni-7 has a long list of its own benefits, including a full-color customizable touchscreen that displays custom product images and provides positive input response for sensing when each button is pressed. Operators also appreciate Uni-7's quick-change label cassettes, Ethernet and wireless communication, compatibility with third-party devices, and SLP-V software for easier PLU management and label customizing. Learn more at http://www.ricelakeretail.com/nano.

Ishida is one the world's largest providers of retail weighing solutions. Ishida retail products are available only through Rice Lake Retail Solutions, a division of Rice Lake Weighing Systems, and Rice Lake's trained and authorized dealer network. Ishida's exclusive North American distributor, Rice Lake Weighing Systems, is a family-owned, ISO 9001 certified corporation based in the United States. Headquarters, metrology laboratory and main manufacturing plant are located in Rice Lake, Wisconsin with support facilities throughout the world including Alabama, Connecticut, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, India and the Netherlands.
