RFID Journal LIVE! 2011 to Feature Live RFID-Enabled Supply Chains Demo

RFID Journal LIVE! 2011 to Feature Live RFID-Enabled Supply Chains Demo

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 7, 2011

RFID Journal announced today that it will host a live RFID-enabled supply chain demonstration at RFID Journal LIVE! 2011, being held on Apr. 12-14, 2011, at the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando, Fla. The demo will be presented by Rush Tracking Systems, a leading RFID systems integration and solutions firm.

"Attendees want more than marketing literature at events like RFID Journal LIVE!," said Toby Rush, Rush Tracking Systems' president and CEO. "We are excited to bring a live demo to the exhibit hall, where users can see, touch and interact with real-world solutions, which we've been deploying for more than eight years for dozens of Fortune 500 companies."

This demonstration will show how a variety of radio frequency identification technologies can be brought together across several common use cases, in order to improve supply chain performance. The demo will be relevant to typical use cases found in industrial manufacturing, automotive, agribusiness, paper, food, consumer packaged goods (CPG) and government businesses, and will include:

Receiving into warehouse: A pallet of goods will be received and identified using portal, handheld and lift-truck readers. Products will then be staged in a bulk-storage receiving area, where Rush Tracking Systems will demonstrate the location-tracking capability of its RFID-enabled lift-truck, known as VisiblEdge, within the storage location.
Put-away: Rush Tracking Systems will automatically capture a pallet's location within the bulk-storage receiving area, and move it onto storage shelving, with no bar-code scanning required. The company will demonstrate the system's tracking and reporting capability by showing the pallet ID and its location automatically, without the need for scanning, thereby enabling warehouse operators to pinpoint the precise location of any pallet within a warehouse, in real time.
Picking and shipping: Rush Tracking Systems' new Orchestrator solution will guide operators to the proper locations for picking product, and then have that product validated, in order to ensure work-order integrity, prior to moving the goods to staging or shipping departments. The system will show a work order, confirm that the correct items are picked up, and indicate that work order's automatic completion.
Asset utilization and optimizing labor standards: See how warehouse operators can track inventory transaction data, along with lift-truck movements and pallet shuffles. And witness reporting for vehicle and labor productivity, as well as real-time monitoring of a forklift fleet, thereby allowing a company to provide accurate, timely feedback regarding labor, as well as optimize processes and improve warehouse success metrics.

"Rush Tracking Systems has brought together RFID and the Sky-Trax system with its own software to automate many common supply chain processes," said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "I think attendees watching these demonstrations will be excited to see these solutions in action."

LIVE! 2011, the ninth annual conference and exhibition produced by RFID Journal, will feature eight industry-specific and level-of-expertise conference tracks, eight in-depth preconference seminars, two co-located events, an RFID in Apparel Workshop, fast-track CompTIA RFID+ and RFIDSCM training and certification, and the RFID Journal Awards, as well as numerous technology exhibits and demonstrations conducted by the leading technology firms.
