This new training resource consists of an online theory component, a hands-on practical component and a practical evaluations component to give trainees real life experience. Johnston is the only national training company able to provide all 3 training components nationally. This training program is nationally accredited, meaning that it has been evaluated by the CSCSC National Accreditation Review Panel, ensuring that all quality and standards are met so that the program is recognized nationally, across all organizations.

To become a credited lift truck operator, simply follow three easy steps:

Step two, the student online training, introduces the trainee to the theoretical information behind operating a lift truck. This component is based on the National B335 Safety Standard for Lift Trucks and can be specific to customer equipment. The benefits of learning this component online are numerous: trainees can go through the material and learn at their own pace, flexibility allows trainees to adapt the courses to their schedule, learning is not location-dependent so trainees from anywhere in Canada can enroll, and because no trainer is scheduled, the cost savings is passed on to the trainee.

Step three, the Hands On Lift Truck Operator Training is divided into two parts: Hands On Instructions Training and Practical Evaluations. With over 40 trainers at 14 local training centers across Canada, trainees will learn how to physically operate a lift truck with the experienced instructions of trainers. The trainee will be evaluated after the hands on portion of this step.
