Bluff Manufacturing Speedy Board

Bluff Manufacturing Speedy Board® Simplifies Steel Dock Board Placement and Retrieval

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) June 20, 2011

Bluff Manufacturing's new Speedy Board® provides an innovative solution for simplifying the process of steel dock board placement and retrieval. Based on Bluff Manufacturing's steel "T" dock board design, the Speedy Board (http://www.bluffmanufacturing.com/products/dock-boards/speedy-board.htm) incorporates fork lift cut-outs to the leading edge of the board that allow the fork lift operator to quickly and safely "scoop" the board and move it into place, and then retrieve it for storage when the job is done.

According to Andrea Curreri, Director of Marketing and Sales for Bluff Manufacturing, the entire process takes place while the operator remains safely in the fork truck cage and without the need for loops or lifting chains.

"Not only is the process much more efficient, it is also much safer," says Curreri, noting the Speedy Board is manufactured and tested in compliance with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) MH30.2 standard and OSHA safety guidelines. "In addition, the Speedy Board option can be added to TFL, TNB and SC dock boards at no additional cost."

Because the length of a steel dock board varies, dock personnel must pay attention to the appropriate length of fork lift truck tines for board placement and retrieval. In order to ensure stability of the Speedy Board or a dock board with the Speedy Board (SB) option, Bluff Manufacturing recommends that at least 65 percent of the dock board rests on the fork lift tines.

The average length of "standard" tines on a fork lift truck typically ranges from 44" to 46". If using a fork lift truck with these "standard" tines, it is necessary to use a truck with longer tines or employ tine extensions when using the 72" or 84" boards with Speedy Board attributes (see chart below): .

If the board length is 48" then the minimum fork length should be 36"
If the board length is 60" then the minimum fork length should be 42"
If the board length is 72" then the minimum fork length should be 48"
If the board length is 84" then the minimum fork length should be 60"

The Speedy Board is available for immediate shipment throughout the U.S. For more information about Bluff Manufacturing products or to place an order, call toll free 1-800-433-2212 or go to http://www.bluffmanufacturing.com.
